We had a great time, and just wanted to share some shots of the family doing our part in the race for the cure.
Saturday, October 20, 2012 was the date of the 17th annual Susan G. Komen, “Race for the Cure”. This 5K run and walk breast cancer fundraising event was held at Bayfront Park and One Two Tree proudly provided one of their tree division bucket trucks at the start, lifting the race photographer high above.
The event continues to grow, breaking records this year with over 25,000 attendees. Marc and Joan Terwilliger, Owners of One Two Tree, just returned from a trip to Washington, DC where the local Komen affiliate also hosted a record breaking 3-day event, raising over $3,000,000.00. Our local affiliate has raised over $12,000,000.00 since its inception and this year alone funded $1,100,000.00 for breast cancer education, screening and treatment services in Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe Counties.
One Two Tree’s corporate philosophy of donating and contributing to local charities and community events has a special connection to Susan G. Komen’s cause, as Joan Terwilliger is a cancer survivor.
